Senior Engineer(Team lead) - Embedded Systems Software for Yottec
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 3-4 years+
Duties and Responsibilities
• Interactions with the Customers and Electronics Design Engineers for Development of Software Requirement Specifications and Project Management for Software Products.
• Design the embedded software architecture on the selected embedded hardware platform for the various projects.
• Guide a team of Junior Engineers in various aspects of embedded system development including development of drivers and board support packages for the various platforms, development of the test cases, development of board bring-up firmware for the various projects.
• Maintenance and upkeep of the embedded software Git repository and making sure that the embedded software development team adheres to the right software development/testing/version control schemes.
• Responsible for preparing the various documentation that will be required from time-to-time for standardization and other design communication requirements.
• Should have experience in Leading teams, to have delivered Solutions on time and with minimum bugs.
Skills Required
• Strong programming skills in Embedded C or C++.
• Good understanding of Linker Scripts and Compiler Toolchains.
• Good understanding of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Good understanding of Testing and Debugging tools, Oscilloscopes, Protocol/Logic Analysers, etc.
• Good understanding of electronics fundamentals and a strong mathematical foundation.
• Interpret electronics design schematics, understand the various signalling schemes, protocols and logical interfaces in a circuit design.
• The primary area of work will be on ARM-Cortex M4 and M7 Platforms.
• Strong prior experience in STM32F4/F7 Microcontrollers and related toolchains.
• Good understanding and programming knowledge of the various embedded peripherals/concepts including UART, I2C, SPI, Timers/PWM, RTC, WDT, I2S, SD/MMC, Ethernet, USB/ULPI, DMA Transfers, Memory Maps.
• Good understanding of Analog to Digital / Digital to Analog Converters.
• High Level of Proficiency in signal processing/control theory fundamentals and implementation of DSP/Control Systems algorithms on embedded platforms.
• Modelling and Simulation skills on MATLAB/Simulink will be considered a plus.
• Exposure in programming Inertial Measurement Systems, Attitude Heading Reference Systems, Global Positioning Systems, Kalman Filters, Complementary Filters, etc.
• Prior exposure in programming of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Controllers / Communication Systems will be considered a plus.
• Exposure in Communication Systems and Embedded Design for Communication Systems.
• Background in Hardware Description Languages like Verilog / VHDL will be considered a major advantage.
• Experience in FPGA design, especially with Xilinx Vivado Toolchain / Zynq / Kintex / Artix platforms.
• A good understanding of the Git Version Control system is expected.
• Coding standards for the Defense / Aerospace industry and knowledge of best-practices for code development - Such DO178B/C, and relevant experience.
• Mention her/his GitHub repositories if there is one.
• If the candidate has been an active participant and has provided solutions in leading online discussion forums including Stack Overflow or any other such technical discussion forum, references to the same will be considered a plus.
• Good Documentation Skills including Good Technical Writing Skills. Online references to Technical documentation/writing done by the candidate if any, may be enclosed in the resume.

• Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electronics / Computer Science / Electrical / Mechatronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
