Role Description
Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT) is the technology partner to the Risk divisions of Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk. This includes definition of the IT strategy and provision of solutions to allow Risk to manage all aspects of risk from the analysis of counterparty credit risk to the protection of the Bank's infrastructure and information.
You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value. You will be someone who sees engineering as team activity, with a predisposition to open code, open discussion and creating a supportive, collaborative environment. You will be ready to contribute to all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis right through to production support.
Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Enterprise Risk Technology environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Individual contributor role. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience.

Your key responsibilities
Responsible for developing Full stack features including User Interfaces using React JS, Typescript and Server-side programming using Python or Java.
Responsible for analyzing, implementing, deploying, and maintaining Web Based Applications.
Work closely with Product Owners and fellow engineers to deliver compelling user- facing applications.
Provide feedback to teammates and support them with detailed PR reviews.
Responsible for designing interface between UI and REST service.
Responsible for creating build pipelines using TeamCity.
Collaborate on best practices and toolsets to improve execution and process delivery
Analyze production bugs/issues and help fixing them properly
Maintain a working knowledge of operating systems, development environments, frontend and backend programming languages, and data architecture
Translates complex technical and functional requirements into detailed designs.
Proposes design changes and suggestions to various processes and products
Participating fully in agile software development process through the entire software lifecycle.
Use BDD techniques, collaborating closely with users, analysts, developers and other testers. Make sure we are building the right thing.
Write / review code and write it well. Be proud to call yourself a programmer. Use test driven development, write clean code and refactor constantly. Follow and propose best coding practices and standards
Be ready to work on a range of technologies and components, including user interfaces, services and databases. Act as a generalizing specialist.
Define and evolve the architecture of the components you are working on and contribute to architectural decisions at a department and bank-wide level.
Ensure that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production. Be prepared to take your turn on call providing 3rd line support when it’s needed
Help your team to build, test and release software within short lead times and with minimum of waste. Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Help create a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team and beyond.
Your skills and experience
Extensive experience in front-end development using React JS, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
Must have a solid programming experience in building services using either Python or Java/J2EE.
Good to have: Experience and knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL).
Good understanding of how API, REST, JWT, OAuth2.0 works, ability to provide constructive feedback during API design phase with backend developer
Experience with React libraries like React Query, Ag-Grid, ReactStrap and component-driven approach
Experience with Node.js and basic automation using libraries and tools like Cypress is good to have.
Good understanding of cloud-based technologies and tools (Preference- GCP, Microsoft Azure, Openshift)
Experience with unit, integration and E2E tests and framework/tools (Jest)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines like TeamCity, Jenkins.
Good knowledge of OWASP security guidelines.
Ability to collaborate with various other teams, like design and product team and provide feedback during feature preparation and planning phase
Self-starter, proactive in resolving issues and removing roadblocks
Adherence to software engineering best practices
Must possess problem-solving and creative thinking ability.
Good to have experience with state management libraries like Redux, Recoil.
Good to have Risk / Investment Banking domain Knowledge.
Hands on experience of test-driven development and constant refactoring in continuous integration environment
Behavior Driven Development, particularly experience of how it can be used to define requirements in a collaborative manner to ensure the team builds the right thing and create a system of living documentation
Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum
