Job Title - Senior Engineer
Location - Pune
Role Description
Senior Engineer is responsible for designing and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of this role include ensuring that solutions are well architected, with maintainability and ease of testing built in from the outset, and that they can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow. They will have gained significant experience through multiple implementations and have begun to develop both depth and breadth in a number of engineering competencies. They have extensive knowledge of design and architectural patterns. They will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams, and will play a role in mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers.

Your key responsibilities
• Hands-on software development
• Solution Design and Architecture ownership
• Lead an agile development team
• Oversee software design
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings
• Strong communication with stakeholders
• Articulate issues and risks to management in timely manner
• Train other team members to bring them up to speed
Your skills and experience
• An expert software engineer, with experience of both Object Oriented and Functional Programming
• A background in Java and/or other JVM languages
• Experience of at least one functional language, such as Scala, Kotlin, Lisp/Clojure, Haskell, etc.
• Able to practice and advocate Test Driven Development
• Good understanding of data, databases and the design of data intensive systems
• Appreciation of cloud technologies
• Able to use modern software delivery practices – Agile, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery
• Understanding of modern software design practices, e.g. Domain Driven Design, microservices, etc.
Nice to have
• Practical cloud-based development and delivery experience, ideally on GCP
• Experience of Kubernetes, Helm, etc.
• Experience of event sourcing architectures
• Scala, including cats and fs2
• Big Data technologies, ideally Spark
• Behavior Driven Development
Educational Qualifications – Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science or relevant field.
