Salary(s): EE3 $85,506.00 - $108,637.00 per year These rates do not reflect the current negotiated salary increases. The new rates are currently being implemented and will be posted shortly.

Conditions of Employment:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must be registered or eligible for registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba as a Professional Engineer
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Must be able to perform field work which requires walking through rough terrain and carrying up to 20lbs
Must be able to work overtime and outside of regular working hours as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
Undergraduate degree in an environmental-related discipline of Engineering (e.g., Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering). Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
Must have appropriate scope-of-practice in environmental engineering including the planning, design and construction of energy production including energy production and water control works and water diversion works for surface water and groundwater and environmental impact assessments.
Ability to read construction plans and learn and work with appropriate industry software tools and technology to successfully complete assignments/projects.
Excellent written communication skills including experience writing various technical documents to support project planning and execution, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
Ability to undertake independent research and develop proposals to introduce new industry innovations into department operations.
Ability to prepare information for others regarding media inquiries and litigation related matters.
Knowledge of applicable provincial acts and regulations.
Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health work practices.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
Desired:
Experience managing or supervising staff.
Duties:
The Senior Environmental Engineer provides specialized engineering services encompassing advice and technical guidance, planning input and analysis, inspections, and review of engineering design and construction reports and drawings. The position is responsible for managing and processing Environment Act Proposals involving energy and water development and control projects, ensuring that the engineering design of the energy and water control works is appropriate and effective.
