Overview:

MasTec Civil is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Estimator to contribute to the growth of our dynamic team! We are looking for a motivated individual with a proven background in Heavy Civil Construction, particularly in the areas of roadways and bridges. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of estimating experience and at least 2 years of field experience, accompanied by comprehensive knowledge of various contract delivery methods such as design-build and design-bid-build.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze bid items and establish a solid basis of estimates by identifying errors and discrepancies in plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical documents, proposals, and addendums effectively.
• Create detailed job budgets and breakdowns, including construction schedules and risk analysis.
• Provide accurate, timely quantity takeoffs and estimate entire jobs independently.
• Review estimating reports and key indicators regularly to ensure project efficiency.
• Stay current with all FDOT standards and specifications.
• Lead estimating discussions with company executives and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Conduct thorough analyses of vendor pricing and market conditions.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and contribute to bid proposals.
• Continuously seek knowledge about new construction technologies and techniques.

Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Heavy Civil sector.
• B.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Must be willing to work in our Miami office.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Integrity and a solid work ethic.
• Exceptional organization and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of bridge and roadway construction processes.
• Familiarity with Florida soil types and construction standards.
• Experience with FDOT and Turnpike contracts.
• Capability to mentor and teach junior engineers.

Software Skills:
• 30-Hour OSHA training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with scheduling software such as P6 Primavera.
• Familiarity with Heavy Bid from HCSS, Bluebeam by REVU, AutoCAD-Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
• Understanding of AGTEK software.
