Responsibilities:
· Oversee the entire payroll process, including preparing and processing payroll for employees.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to payroll, including tax laws, labor laws, and employment standards.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to payroll, including employee records, tax records, and payroll reports.
· Provide guidance and support to junior payroll staff, including training, mentoring, and coaching.
· Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including HR, finance, and accounting.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures related to payroll to improve efficiency and accuracy.
· Keep up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations related to payroll and make recommendations for changes to processes and policies as necessary.
· Conduct audits and reviews of payroll processes to identify and address any issues or discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills:
· A bachelor's degree in human resources.
· Prior experience in payroll administration, accounting, or a related field.
· Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as the Fair Labour Standards Act (FLSA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and state and local payroll tax laws.
· Familiarity with payroll software and other HR system.
· Attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
