Designation: Executive / Sr. Executive / Manager (Reconciliation, Settlement & Risk)

Role Overview
The role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy across daily transactions, vendor/partner payouts, settlement files, and payment gateways. This includes identifying variances, resolving mismatches, and mitigating financial & operational risks across the e-commerce order lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation & Settlements
• End-to-end reconciliation of orders, COD & prepaid collections, refunds, chargebacks,
• cancellations & returns.
• Match settlements between internal order system vs PG/Bank vs logistics partners.
• Validate settlement files from payment gateways (Razorpay/Paytm/Easebuzz/etc.) and
• ensure timely payouts.
• Identify short payments, delayed settlements & follow up with stakeholders.
• Work with Tech/Finance to resolve reconciliation gaps & system mismatches.
Payment Gateway & Bank Coordination
• Daily settlement tracking & discrepancy reporting.
• Work with banks/PGs to resolve disputes, failed settlements & T+1/T+2 mismatches.
• Monitor MDR charges, fee deductions & ensure accuracy against commercials.
Risk & Controls (E-Commerce Ops)
• Monitor fraudulent orders / high-risk orders / velocity checks (IP, device, address, repeat behaviour etc).
• Analyse cancel/return patterns to identify operational leakages & prevent revenue loss.
• Collaborate with customer experience to validate disputes.
• Build reporting for risk flags: RTO, abnormal orders, payment anomalies, negative settlements etc.
Reporting & MIS
• Daily/Weekly MIS on settlements, pending items & ageing trackers.
• Exception reporting for finance & leadership.
• Work closely with auditors on documentation & proof of settlement trail.
Skills & Experience Required
• 2–4 years experience in e-commerce, marketplace, fintech etc.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation, payouts, PG settlements & risk controls.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, PIVOT, SUMIF, error handling).
• Knowledge of payment cycles, T+1/T+2 settlement norms.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving & variance analysis capability.
Preferred Experience
• Experience in marketplaces/Fintech is preferred.
• Exposure to internal controls or audit is a plus.
