Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Parramatta - Hybrid
Employment type: Temporary Full-Time up to 30 June 2028
Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 ($129,464 - $142,665 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, your role is to ensure robust financial oversight and compliance with capital accounting obligations. You will be focussed on reviewing and reforming existing capital reporting processes alongside business stakeholders.
What you’ll do
This role sits within the Continuous Improvement and Capital Team within Strategic Finance division. This role involves investigating existing and proposing reform changes to business governance and financial practices for capital programs, utilising reporting technology, and implementing changes to the asset lifecycle.
The analyst will also need to articulate and summarise their findings in executive briefing notes to support decision-making and optimal resource allocation.
Any reform changes will need to be accompanied by a business education campaign and provide appropriate support and guidance.
The Reporting and Analytics branch provides central finance services to the DCJ executive. This includes monthly reporting, communication with central agencies like Treasury, and advising leadership on how to allocate new funding.
The Continuous Improvement and Capital team delivers new projects for the department and plays a central finance role for capital funding.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment alongside stakeholders with varying roles and expertise, which will help with professional development and exposure.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
Experience in capital asset delivery and governance is preferred.
Some experience in financial accounting is essential. The successful candidate will also be interpreting and articulating technical financial accounting concepts to a non-financial audience.
