Frontend Developer (React/JavaScript/NextJS)
Proficient is a technology-driven Quant Product firm that specializes in systematic research and strategy execution on various exchanges and brokers globally. We trade across a multitude of asset classes.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Frontend Developer with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience and a strong specialization in React, JavaScript, and NextJS. As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the user interface of our web applications.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the design team and other stakeholders to translate UI/UX wireframes and mockups into high-quality code using React, JavaScript, and NextJS.
Develop new user-facing features and enhance existing ones, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
Build reusable and scalable components and libraries for future use.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring high performance across different devices and browsers.
Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies, best practices, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Work closely with backend developers and other cross-functional teams to integrate frontend code with server-side functionality.
Identify and troubleshoot frontend-related issues and bugs, and propose effective solutions.
Implement and maintain frontend testing frameworks and perform unit and integration testing to ensure robustness and reliability.
Collaborate with the team to define and improve the frontend architecture and development processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Frontend Developer, with a strong focus on React, JavaScript, and NextJS.
Expertise in building responsive and dynamic web applications using modern frontend frameworks and libraries.
Proficient understanding of web markup languages, including HTML5 and CSS3, and experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS.
Solid understanding of frontend architecture principles and design patterns, and the ability to apply them effectively.
Strong knowledge of browser rendering behavior and performance optimization techniques.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and project management tools like Jira or Trello.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex frontend issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with other frontend frameworks like Angular or Vue.js.
Familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
Knowledge of server-side rendering and Next.js.
Understanding of SEO principles and best practices for frontend development.
Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress.
