What is the opportunity?

Join the Reconciliations IT Technology team as we continuously deliver new products to modernize operational business processes by delivering enterprise grade solutions. We are seeking a talented and adaptable Senior Technology Developer to develop and maintain an existing portfolio of applications and deliver new business capabilities to our Recs-IT in Capital Markets.

What will you do?

Design and develop scalable micro-services to deliver a powerful functional component that seamlessly supports both our internal reconciliation system and the vendor system, enhancing overall efficiency and integration.
• Support in the development of major systems using new Web and application technologies
• Improve and/or develop functionalities to meet the needs of users by designing solutions, solving problems, producing estimates of the work to be done and by programming, testing, debugging and documenting the work
• The candidate must be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through including the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment. Perform industry research to clarify, define, or satisfy technology or business process issues
• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions. Facilitate requirements prioritization based on business value.
• Develop/support front end , back end, client & server and web applications and services in Agile mode
• Be part of the developer’s community, participate in the continuous improvement and best practices
• In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:
• 5-7 years development experience with Java full stack with Angular framework, API Cloud, SQL or any other relational databases, AZURE knowledge and experience; Backend development using Java/J2EE technologies and bootstrap.
• 5- 7 years’ experience developing for multi-tier applications based on Java, jQuery, React JS and REST-APIs.
• Experience working in Python
• Experience with common web development tools and services, such as version control software, package managers, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control software, package managers and experience in tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, GITHUB, Consul, JIRA, ServiceNow, Confluence, SharePoint etc.
• Hands -on experience working with technologies like data processing, ETLs for data pipelines and queuing system s (Kafka, MQ, ActiveMQ and Pub/Sub).
• Experience with relational database programming (e.g. Sybase, SQL Server and Mongo DB/ClickHouse).
• Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
• Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets products & trade lifecycle.
• Led analysis for industry and firm wide projects, such as T+1 Accelerated Settlement.
• Hands on experience on IntelliMatch, IntelliTRACS, NEXTGEN or XCEPTOR reconciliation systems, or any
• Experience using OOP languages like Java/Python to design and architect test automation frameworks.
• Experience working in an Agile-based project delivery framework.
• Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
