Beca Digital

Beca Digital is moving into a significant stage of growth in Australia, working with our clients to solve real world, complex and unique problems to make everyday better. Our clients work with us to leverage technology to solve problems that make our digital roles varied and unique. As a team, we play a central role in leading digital transformation across Beca in Australia and offshore, embracing change through an ongoing process of continuous improvement.

You will be working across some of our key digital offerings, including infrastructure planning, asset condition rating and inspections and analytics and reporting to support our clients business operations to name a few. Check out how we are applying our GIS capability in this latest water project here, with details on our GIS team here.

The opportunity

You will have exposure to projects that change our world and a chance to play a senior role in developing our approach and the delivery of technical components of these projects. As a digital leader in the Sydney office, you will also support the development of the project pipeline, shaping and growing opportunities to work with our clients. You will navigate and be working across multiple projects, providing geospatial expertise to technical and non-technical stakeholders. You won’t be alone, joining a multi-disciplinary digital team of over 100 subject matter experts based across Beca’s digital hubs.

You’ll need to be comfortable working across the ESRI platform including ArcGIS Pro and Online environments as well as having a good understanding of spatial methodologies and how to apply these to real world problems. Experience in ETL tools such as FME would also be an advantage. You will need to be curious and comfortable asking questions to discover the most appropriate solution with our clients’ outcomes in mind. This role will enable you to leverage your technical skillset to support our geospatial data, analytics, software, and consulting offering in a real-world setting, helping with the delivery of current Beca digital projects both in Australia and globally.

About you

You will be someone who enjoys applying their technical subject matter expertise to make things happen for our clients. You’ll have a strong grounding in the application of geospatial tools to solve real world problems, preferably with an inquisitive mindset and the willingness to develop your skills further in the industry. You will enjoy variety with our teams working across different projects, industries, and disciplines with a range of both internal Beca project teams and our external clients. Our geospatial roles are varied, challenging, dynamic and rewarding.

At Beca Digital, we encourage diversity of thought to help develop and deliver creative solutions to solve our client’s problems and deliver complex projects. We encourage applicants to consider this role and invite applications from a diverse range of backgrounds. This includes applicants who have some of these components:

Credibility as a geospatial analyst managing, processing and analysing data and presenting results using ESRI tooling (ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online).

Ability to scope, consult and understand geospatial data sources and methods, and problem solve to deliver insight for clients using spatial tools and techniques

Providing quality service to clients, anticipating client enquiries or issues and dealing with them effectively

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build meaningful and collaborative relationships – particularly with our clients and internal partners

Due to the nature of our client and projects, it is preferable that you hold (or will be able to obtain) an Australian Government security clearance

Experience and a background across data analytics using Microsoft products would be an advantage.
