Are you an experienced, client-focused Hand Therapist who is passionate about delivering exceptional care? We have an exciting opportunity to join our Centre of Excellence for Hand Therapy within Counties Manukau.
Based at Manukau SuperClinic, a modern outpatient facility, you will work in a highly collaborative environment where hand therapists and hand surgeons partner closely to deliver integrated, specialist care. You will manage a diverse and rewarding caseload across a broad range of hand and upper limb conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, acute and trauma-related injuries across adult and paediatric populations, as well as congenital hand differences, nerve compressions, arthritis, and Dupuytrens disease.
As a Senior Clinician, you will play an integral leadership role within the service. You will contribute to clinical teaching and mentoring, participate in research and service evaluation, support quality and risk initiatives, and help advance health equity outcomes for our community.
This role offers the opportunity to practise in a specialised and supportive environment with direct access to highly experienced Registered Hand Therapists. Our team has a well-established tutorial and in-service education programme that supports continuous professional development and clinical excellence.
To be successful in this role, you must hold current New Zealand registration in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy and have proven hand therapy experience in either inpatient or outpatient settings. Completion of postgraduate training in hand therapy, such as the Hand and Upper Limb programme delivered by Auckland University of Technology, will be advantageous. Applications are also welcomed from therapists currently undertaking postgraduate study in hand therapy.
Essential:
Registered with the New Zealand Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Board and current Annual Practising Certificate
Diploma of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, or Bachelor of Health Science (Occ Ther), or overseas equivalent
Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience with 2-3 years experience in the area of speciality
Associate membership or full member of New Zealand Association of Hand Therapists
Full, clean drivers licence
