About the role
We’re looking for a hands-on Health & Safety Advisor to drive health, safety, and wellbeing across Aroa. This role gives you the chance to shape, evolve, and strengthen how H&S is lived across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015)
Managing and continuously improving AROA’s H&S systems and policies
Actively engaging with staff to promote safe work practices
Running H&S Committee meetings to updating systems and leading investigations
Providing hands on H&S expertise across the business, and ensuring H&S recommendations are implemented
Overseeing H&S requirements for external contractors and ensuring compliance
Running company-wide wellbeing initiatives
Preparing and presenting H&S insights and reports to the senior leadership team
Supporting environmental sustainability initiatives, including hazardous substances and waste management
Coaching our H&S Coordinator and promoting a positive safety culture across AROA
What we’re looking for
5+ years’ experience in a practical H&S advisory role
Working knowledge of HSWA 2015 and related legislation
Prior leadership experience managing direct reports
Expertise in developing H&S systems, policies, and procedures
Influences stakeholders at all levels to prioritise health and safety in decision-making
Experience building and improving systems (e.g. contractor management, incident and risk management, reporting)
Proficiency in MS Office; SharePoint and eQMS experience an advantage
Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment
