We are looking for a “hands-on” and proactive Senior HR Manager for India, to evolve and build on the very successful People Strategy we’ve had to date.

We are looking for a Senior HR Manager for our Bangalore office, to join our People Team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all of our HR team in India. Some of these will report to this role and some will not, but you will act as coach and mentor to all of them regardless. You’ll ensure the smooth running of some of our core processes and procedures as well as ensuring we are a great place to work in Bangalore which are at the heart of the experience of our people and the success of our business.

Scaling and Recruitment

You’ll be accountable for fostering collaboration and synergy between our leadership team in Bangalore and UK & Ireland, actively driving engagement and facilitating effective communication between the teams.

You’ll be heavily involved in the interview processes for key senior roles, ensuring we hire great people that align with Version 1 culture and will enable us to scale. You will help ensure that we attract and recruit exceptional individuals who align with our Version 1 culture, and possess the skills and expertise to drive our company's growth and expansion

People Operations

You will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a robust system of statutory compliance, controls, procedures, policies, and guidelines, safeguarding our organization against potential risks and ensuring that we operate at high levels of efficiency and effectiveness. As we scale, we plan to continue to build out a People Operations team in India. You’ll help build and manage this team.

We have a quarterly rhythm which underpins and is critical to our business model. Our Performance cycle, our Pay cycle, our employee survey cycles all follow this rhythm and run like clockwork every three months. You’ll make sure this happens in India.

You’ll work with the Group People Operations team and Bangalore Leadership to ensure we have appropriate reporting and analysis in place to support decision-making for our India teams.

As our employee relations expert for your region, you will lead the way in providing strategic counsel and guidance on complex employee relations issues, bringing your knowledge and experience to bear in managing difficult cases and ensuring that our organisation upholds the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.

Talent & Development

You will be instrumental in implementing our Group CPD framework and progression approach in the region, ensuring that it aligns with company goals and leads to meaningful career progression opportunities for our India teams.

You will collaborate closely with our Organisational Development team to identify the most suitable participants for our Strength in Balance, Empowered Manager, and Balanced Leadership programs, providing hands-on support to ensure the successful execution of these initiatives.

Your role will also involve supporting identification of training and development interventions that enable our teams in India to continuously enhance their skills and capabilities to meet our customers' needs and their own career aspirations.

You will lead on scaling our approach to benchmarking, transparency, and compensation review in India. You’ll work with our compensation and benefits team to make sure we have a compelling compensation package for our India teams.

You’ll work with our team to make sure we have appropriate pay policies, processes, bandings and structures in place to meet business and employee needs.

We are evolving our employee experience into creating an all-encompassing personal experience for our employees through our moments that matter programme, our “work-life fit” approach when it comes to flexibility and through our engagement model across our offices globally.

You’ll ensure we have a scalable approach to onboarding that ensures our new employees in India have an outstanding experience during their crucial first three months with us. Your responsibility will be to collaborate with Group HR to maintain a comprehensive onboarding program that aligns with our organizational culture and values, and equips our new hires with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to succeed in their roles.

You’ll ensure our office, hybrid and flexible working policies are fit-for-purpose for our India operations and evolve them as we grow.

Qualifications

Desired Experience and Approach:
• Relevant experience of 10 to 14 Years.
• Hands-on, pragmatic approach. This role will include getting involved and delivering on projects, goals and tasks as well as managing a team to drive results and outcomes.
• International experience managing both teams in India and working with colleagues across the globe. You’ll likely have worked in India for a global organisation head quartered in the US or the UK.
• Strong experience in compensation and benefits is required
• Proven track record in Indian employment law, statutory guidelines, compliance and employee relations.
• A curious and growth-oriented mindset is essential, to think innovatively and rationally about concerns and come up with creative but practical solutions.
• A pro-active attitude and a passion for leading with integrity.
• Proven ability to win confidence of and counsel senior management on appropriate practice and decision-making.
• Commercial acumen and experience of using metrics for driving performance.
• Any familiarity with integrations and acquisitions would also be an advantage.
