A job to be proud of:

St John WA is seeking a Senior Industrial Relations Specialist to join our Industrial Relations team. In this role, you will deliver strategic and specialist advice to minimise disputes and enhance workforce relations, aligning with our organisational objectives. You will support and mentor team members, lead enterprise agreement negotiations, and manage complex workplace matters, all while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

This is a permanent full-time role based in our Belmont state office.

What you will do:

Provide accurate and strategic industrial relations guidance to support positive workforce relations and achieve organisational goals.
Guide and mentor new and existing team members, oversee onboarding, and offer constructive feedback to enhance their development.
Offer expert advice on industrial and employee relations, ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements, and Awards.
Lead enterprise agreement bargaining, including planning and implementation, and manage consultations for organisational change initiatives.
Develop effective dispute resolution strategies, manage negotiations with unions, and represent St John WA before the Fair Work Commission and other tribunals.
Handle complex workplace issues, including investigations and compliance programs, and identify strategies to prevent and resolve disputes.
Provide education and support to leaders, empowering them to confidently manage routine industrial matters.
Support organisational change initiatives through effective employee and union consultation planning and implementation.
Contributing to continuous improvement processes and St John's diversity and inclusion programs.
Identify emerging industrial relations issues and develop strategies to prevent, minimize, and resolve disputes.
What you’ll need:

Tertiary qualification in human resources management, industrial relations, law or a related field.
4 to 5 years of experience required in similar role, such as Senior Industrial Relations or Employee Relations Advisor
Up-to-date knowledge of industrial relations legislation.
Experience in negotiating enterprise agreements and managing complex IR matters.
Strong problem-solving and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to influence and build positive relationships with management and unions.
