ING Australia is on the search for a Senior Information Security Engineer, who will play a key role in ensuring that all digital solutions are secure by design and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Senior IT Operations Manager within the Digital Tribe you’ll collaborate with engineering, development, and security teams to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle, oversee testing and assurance activities, and provide expert security consultancy across the organization.

What you’ll do …
Define and recommend robust information security requirements to ensure all developed solutions are secure and compliant with internal standards and regulatory obligations.
Collaborate with engineering, development, and cybersecurity teams to embed security principles into solution architecture from the design phase.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive security testing and assurance activities are effectively executed.
Deliver expert security consultancy and strategic guidance across all levels of IT and business functions.
Partner with the Information Security team to identify and implement forward-looking, strategic security enhancements.
Continuously monitor, assess, and remediate information security risks, vulnerabilities, and findings within the Tribe.
Develop, maintain, and disseminate clear, actionable documentation and guidelines on secure software development practices.
Ensure all implemented security controls are aligned with ING’s security standards and fully comply with its risk and compliance frameworks.
What we’re looking for…
Possess broad-based technical expertise in information security, with deep specialization and hands-on proficiency in at least one core domain such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), security monitoring, or network defense.
Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking and complex problem-solving, enabling swift and effective resolution of security challenges.
Proven ability to identify and assess technological risks, and to collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective mitigation strategies.
Practical experience with DevSecOps practices and Secure by Design principles, ensuring security is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
Strong capability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities strategically to drive high-impact outcomes.
Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, coupled with a passion for navigating and resolving complex, ambiguous security issues.
