Job Description
InstinctIQ (instinctiq.ai) is building AI-powered platforms that automate complex workflows for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) industry. We move fast, operate lean, and build systems that genuinely change how work gets done. We need a senior administrator who can help define and build AI first IT operations — we’re not managing a legacy environment. We’re architecting a cloud-first, AI-assisted operations model from the ground up.
The Role
We’re hiring a Senior IT Administrator to own IT operations for a ~70–100 user, fully remote environment built on Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune.
This is a high-ownership, hands-on role — not a ticket queue job. You’ll be the primary architect and operator of our IT infrastructure, working directly with leadership to modernize systems and introduce AI and automation into day-to-day IT operations.
If you want to be the person who decides how things are built — not just someone who maintains what exists — this role is for you.
What You’ll Own
Phase 1 — Setup & Transition
∙Assess current environment: devices, identities, network, and security posture
∙Deploy and standardize Microsoft 365, Intune, and the security stack (Defender, Conditional Access, DLP)
∙Establish identity governance, MFA, backup, and baseline security controls
∙Stand up ITSM/ticketing system and SLA framework
Ongoing Operations
∙Own end-user support across devices and Microsoft 365 apps
∙Manage Azure and M365 tenant — licensing, configurations, health
∙Administer endpoint management via Intune (policies, compliance, enrollment)
∙Handle security monitoring and incident response — EDR, email threats, identity anomalies
∙Run patching, backups, and system health across the environment
∙Manage VPN and basic network/firewall configurations
∙Report on ticket trends, SLAs, and system health to leadership
AI-Driven IT (What Makes This Different)
You’ll actively contribute to building AI into IT operations:
∙Automate repetitive tasks: provisioning, deprovisioning, alert triage
∙Use AI tools to analyze logs, alerts, and system signals for proactive response
∙Improve ticket resolution with intelligent routing and knowledge base automation
∙Build foundations for automated compliance evidence collection (SOC 2, CMMC)
∙Collaborate on internal tools that make IT data-driven and predictive
You won’t just manage infrastructure — you’ll help define what the next generation of IT operations looks like.
What We’re Looking For
Required
∙5–8 years of IT administration experience, ideally including MSP or multi-client environments
∙Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
∙Strong Intune administration — device enrollment, compliance policies, app deployment
∙Azure experience — Entra ID (AAD), Conditional Access, role management
∙Endpoint security — Microsoft Defender or equivalent EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne)
∙PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks (this is a real requirement, not a nice-to-have)
∙Solid networking fundamentals — DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall basics
∙Backup and patch management in a cloud-first environment
∙Comfortable owning IT independently — you set the priorities, you close the loop
Preferred
∙Experience supporting SOC 2, CMMC, or similar compliance frameworks
∙Exposure to AI/automation tools (Power Automate, scripting pipelines, LLM-based tools)
∙ITSM platform experience (Freshservice, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow)
∙Relevant certifications: MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, or equivalent
Why This Role
∙Full ownership — you run IT end-to-end, not just respond to tickets
∙Modern stack — Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Defender; no legacy baggage
∙Real AI work — not a buzzword; you’ll actively build automation into IT operations
∙Direct impact — your work is visible and consequential from day one
∙Flexibility — remote-first; part-time arrangements considered for the right candidate
Compensation
Top tier compensation designed to be highly competitive and reflective of the ownership, impact, and growth opportunity in this role
