Job Summary
A hands-on technical developer focused on building out the firm’s strategic data platforms. The successful applicant will take ownership of key projects and components and will be responsible for all phases of the SDLC including analysis and design, development, testing and deployment. As a senior member of the team, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance to junior developers, including overseeing their deliverables, providing architectural guidance, enforcing best practices, and conducting code reviews. A potential candidate will need to understand system and enterprise architecture concepts and will be expected to understand how all components fit together and affect one another. They will work with a global and diverse team of peers as well as liaise closely with Business Analyst, Production Support, and Infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Strong Java experience – currently using Java 8.
• Strong experience in RESTful Service based architecture.
• Experience using Spring Boot and Hibernate frameworks.
• Strong communication skills – experience communicating with internal users.
• Ability to work independently on tasks, while also having a team-oriented focus.
• Strong desire to keep up to date with new versions of programs / languages.
• Preferred experience building software in a CI/CD environment.
• Experience building services and micro services.
• Experience working in a Docker/Container environment.
• Experience working in a Cloud environment i.e., AWS, Azure, etc.
Key Responsibilities
• In depth analytical understanding of Java technologies.
• Experience in a DevOps environment is preferred.
• Experience with various UI technologies include Angular and Bootstrap
• Familiarity with relational databases (prefer Oracle/Postgres), Unix shell scripting, XML, ISAPI, HTML, XSLT and basic UNIX system administration.
• Solid understanding of Microservices architecture
• GIT or TFS (Team Foundation Server)
• Experience working with Agile teams, and exposure to stand up calls, participating in sprint planning etc.
