About Us:
Join our fast growing, highly motivated Product & Technology (Platform Experience) team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity create and deliver HERE’s map products to meet the diverse industry demands. Our Vision is to publish map-content changes in near real-time into any HERE product by providing a highly scalable, fully automated and accurate product creation pipeline. All products are designed for their industry specific product life cycles to ensure customer satisfaction
What's the role?
The HERE Product & Technology team is looking for a Senior Engineer to publish map-content changes in near real-time into any HERE product by providing a highly scalable, fully automated and accurate product creation pipeline.
The job includes all parts of software development lifecycle: refining product vision, gathering requirements, software system design, coding, testing, release and support. As our team is spread around the globe, you will work collaboratively with other team members from different locations.
• Develop software that is well-crafted & steadily adds business value, as part of a community of professionals
• Engage with internal customers for requirements, change requests and incidents to help define application specifications
• Own one or more components of software architecture in immediate environment
• Be part of an agile team, share knowledge, do code reviews, pro-active communication
• Drive and improve engineering best practices (e.g. Agile, coding, verification)
• Contribute towards complex, cross-subsystem/product designs
Who are you?
• You are a fast learner, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• 4+ years backend application development experience – Java 1.8+
• Hand-on experience in REST, GIT
• Design patterns knowledge is a must
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms is must
• Infrastructure experience: Maven/SBT, GIT/GERRIT, Jenkins, CI/CD processes, Linux Environment.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and AWS EMR is considered a plus
• Solid knowledge of programming practices, strive to write great code that is reusable, flexible, and reliable.
• Self-motivated, well-organized, details-oriented and a strong team player with an agile mindset
• Strong quality mindset is considered a must: unit testing and test-driven development
