Responsibilities
Overview: This position supports the mission-critical NY Gov authentication system, providing access to New York State government web applications
The selected candidate will be responsible for high-level design, technical standards, software coding standards, tools, and platforms, focusing on Java web application development, WebSphere, OKTA integration, and more
Install and deploy J2EE applications on production and non-production WebSphere cluster environments
Troubleshoot user issues in staging/QA environments and communicate with users to resolve application-related issues
Design and implement J2EE design patterns using Rational Software Architect (RSA), including patterns like Session Façade, Front Controller, and Data Access Object
Develop reusable and distributed components for J2EE applications
Design and develop UI screens using AJAX, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Ensure code compliance with NY State accessibility standards
Estimate project requirements, risks, and benefits and communicate with the Project Manager and users
Monitor and resolve service requests/incidents using the ITSM tool
Develop and maintain REST/SOAP web services solutions
