Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Lawyer to join our real estate and construction team. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel, manage litigation, ensure regulatory compliance, draft and review complex contracts, and protect the company’s legal interests in all business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Legal Advisory:
• Provide expert legal advice on real estate transactions, project approvals, land acquisition, RERA, and construction-related matters.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations and advise stakeholders accordingly.
• Contracts and Agreements:
• Draft, review, and negotiate MOUs, joint development agreements, sale deeds, lease agreements, construction contracts, vendor agreements, and purchase agreements.
• Ensure all legal documents are compliant with local and national laws.
• Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
• Represent the company in legal proceedings.
• Handle property-related litigations, arbitration, and court cases.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and manage litigation strategy.
• Compliance Management:
• Ensure compliance with RERA, building laws, environmental laws, and municipal regulations.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to legal procedures and timelines for property registration, project approvals, and land due diligence.
• Due Diligence:
• Conduct title verification and due diligence for land/property acquisition.
• Identify legal risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Internal Legal Processes:
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to manage risks.
• Provide training to internal teams on legal compliance and contract management.
Requirements:
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; LLM or specialization in Real Estate Law is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 –10 years of experience in real estate and construction law, with at least 5 years in a senior legal position.
• Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of property laws, construction contracts, and land acquisition procedures.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
• Familiarity with regulatory bodies like RERA, DTCP, local municipal bodies, etc.
• Other:
• Should be licensed to practice law in India.
