Senior Lawyer - Corporate Energy

💰 $10,640 - $17,024 (Est.) 📍 Auckland

Job Description

Our market leading national energy team are looking for a corporate and commercial lawyer to join the firm’s Auckland office. We are looking for a driven individual with experience in general contracting and commercial work, ideally with some exposure to the energy sector. An interest or passion for renewable energy is an essential.

As the successful candidate, you will be working closely with leading Partner Lauren Curtayne, an opportunity which is rarely available. Lauren advises on major energy projects, commercial contracts, mergers & acquisitions, and regulatory matters in the energy sector. She is particularly passionate about renewable energy – including all of wind, solar, geothermal and hydro power, batteries and emerging energy technology. As our multi-disciplinary energy team advises New Zealand and international companies across the sector, you will also have exposure to upstream, midstream and downstream, traditional and renewables, suppliers and purchasers.

Depending on your experience, Lauren is looking for a senior solicitor or senior associate to work closely with her on these projects –working with some of the largest energy players in New Zealand.

You will be exposed to challenging work, and there will be scope for you to build your practice and long-term client relationships and to advance within the firm. But you’ll also be working with a partner who realises there is more to life than just work. Lauren champions working in a flexible and sustainable way for all her team – something that, as a mother to two daughters, she also role models.
