As a Senior Lawyer in Corporate Legal, you will play a key role in providing practical legal advice and developing innovative solutions to business stakeholders. You will focus on assisting our Innovation, Partnerships and Design Portfolio to negotiate commercial agreements, alliances and other opportunities with ANZ’s strategic partners.

What will your day look like?

Providing commercial legal advice with a solutions-focussed approach.

Negotiating and drafting documentation to execute complex partner transactions and novel partner relationships.

Proactively helping stakeholders understand the legal and banking regulatory landscape and its impact on their transactions, projects, and initiatives.

Working closely with privacy, data and technology lawyers across ANZ as well as other risk and enablement functions.

Instruct and manage external law firms who provide additional assistance from time to time.

Continuously evaluating and improving the way the legal services are delivered, including to continuously improve cost efficiency.

Delivering actionable guidance and knowledge initiatives to the business to build capability and awareness of legal issues in partnerships.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Be admitted to practice in Victoria.

Have 7+ years post-qualification experience with a law firm or equivalent in-house experience in a corporate or innovation environment (ideally with some financial services or technology experience).

Have a commercial contracting focus with experience in drafting and negotiation.

Be a practical problem solver and communicator, capable of working through complexity and unblocking issues.

Strengths as a trusted adviser, capable of initiating, building and maintain effective relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
