We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to lead our global legal team at Prezzee. As a key member of our Executive Team, you will provide strategic advice on business-critical matters and oversee corporate transactions.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of experience in corporate transactions, intellectual property law, and team leadership. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect and maximize the value of our intellectual property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a high-performing global legal team, fostering collaboration and alignment with company objectives.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and Executive Team, providing clear and strategic legal counsel on business-critical matters.
Oversee corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and due diligence, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate legal considerations into business strategies.
Requirements
10+ years PQE.
Admission to practice law in Australia, with additional international qualifications (e.g., U.S. or U.K.) considered a plus.
A background in fintech/payments, startups, or listed organisations, with a strong understanding of regulatory landscapes.
Proven ability to operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.
Exceptional leadership and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business challenges.
A commercial mindset with a strong focus on risk management and enabling business success.
