Senior Legal & Compliance Specialist (Risk & Settlement)
Location: Mumbai/Thane Region
About the Role
We seek an experienced Senior Operations Risk & Settlement Specialist with strong background in payment operations, chargeback management, and transaction settlements. Must have excellent analytical skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Switch Payout processes for VISA, MasterCard, and RuPay
Handle transaction reconciliation across payment gateways and banks
Resolve settlement discrepancies and process payments promptly
Monitor fraud cases and manage exceptions
Process chargebacks, representments and arbitration cases within TAT
Perform KYC checks and due diligence for merchants
Handle legal compliance including account freezes and liens
Manage payment-related legal disputes
Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain documentation
Support audits and new project initiatives
Requirements
5+ years in payment operations (3+ years in risk/settlement)
Strong knowledge of payment ecosystems (card networks, UPI)
Experience with payment gateways and banking interfaces
Understanding of chargeback management and legal compliance
Experience handling account freezes and legal disputes
Excellent analytical, Excel, and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or related field
MBA preferred (in progress/completed)
Banking/Financial Services certifications a plus
Legal compliance training preferred
