This Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Markets role is responsible for providing legal services to TCorp’s financial and investments markets businesses including legal advice, contract review, internal legal documentation – government compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Drafting of transaction documentation including debt issuance documents, programme materials, loan agreements, derivatives documentation and other bespoke legal documents;
Ensuring compliance with existing laws and regulatory requirements including the identification and management of proposed regulatory or market practice changes likely to impact the Financial Markets business;
Assisting with the development of processes and procedures in conjunction with the financial markets business to ensure TCorp’s legal and regulatory obligations are satisfied;
Working with TCorp’s Risk Management team, senior tax manager, Business Managers, Finance team and other key business stakeholders to deliver business outcomes;
Identification of training and educational needs resulting from regulatory and legal changes to financial market requirements; and
Supporting the delivery of legal services and advice to TCorp’s core businesses and undertaking such legal work as directed by the General Counsel.

About You
The right candidate will have a Law degree with admission to Supreme Court of New South Wales, and a current practising certificate with a minimum of 8 years post-admission experience. In addition, experience working at a major law firm (or in a financial markets institution in-house team) and an understanding of financial markets, including the regulatory environment, industry standards/practices is essential. An understanding of debt capital market is highly desirable.
