We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team for a 12-14 month fixed term maternity cover role.
This in-house counsel position offers a varied and challenging opportunity to provide legal advice to stakeholders across the business, focusing on construction, infrastructure, project, and corporate matters.
Main Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders across Utilities, Telecommunications, and Transport Divisions to advise on contractual and project delivery risks.
Assist with governance and compliance requirements, including modern slavery laws, privacy laws, SOPA, and HSE.
Provide legal guidance and present to Senior Management and Executives on various legal matters.
Offer training to the business on contract and dispute management, as well as legislative and regulatory changes.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 7 years PQE in either an in-house or private practice role.
Qualification as an Australian or NZ legal practitioner with a current Australian practising certificate.
Well-rounded commercial expertise in preparing and reviewing commercial contracts, with experience in dispute resolution being beneficial.
The ability to provide solution-focused advice with a 'best for business' approach.
