This is an opportunity to join the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne office. The successful applicant will be able to join the Octopus Investments Australia team on their mission to accelerate Australia's transition to a future powered by renewable energy.


We are looking for an associate / senior associate level commercial solicitor to support the business through a period of exciting growth.


Ideally the successful applicant will have energy projects and construction experience in the Australian market. However, we value diversity and will consider talented candidates from other walks of life.

Job Description

Responsibilities


You will be responsible for providing legal advice to all aspects of the business. This will, in conjunction with support from external counsel, include providing advice across the full life cycle of renewable projects from development, construction, project finance, M&A and regulatory to ensure the successful delivery of our renewable energy projects. This role will report into our Director & General Counsel.




Qualifications

You will be an associate / senior associate at a reputable law firm working on grid-scale renewable energy projects (acquisition, development, construction, projects experience).


However, we recognise that not everyone fits this mould. Our business has many aspects, such as community licence, environmental and social governance, and indigenous investment.
