Job Description
• Prepare, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate documents including leases, purchase agreements, sale agreements, and other related contracts.
• Ensure that all documents comply with legal standards and reflect the best interests of the company.
• Title Search and Examination:
• Conduct thorough title searches to verify the legal ownership and identify any encumbrances or defects.
• Resolve any issues discovered during the title search process.
• Due Diligence:
• Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential real estate acquisitions.
• Analyze and mitigate legal risks associated with property acquisitions and sales.
• Ensure all necessary legal due diligence documents are complete and accurate.
• Conveyancing:
• Manage the legal aspects of property transfers, including preparation and execution of conveyancing documents.
• Oversee the closing process to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Non-Litigation Legal Support:
• Provide legal advice and support on non-litigation matters related to real estate transactions.
• Address any legal issues that arise during the course of real estate projects.
• Liaise with external legal counsel as needed.
• Compliance and Regulatory Matters:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to real estate transactions.
• Keep abreast of changes in real estate law and advise the company on necessary adjustments to practices and policies.
• Team Collaboration and Management:
• Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, operations, and development to ensure legal compliance and support.
• Provide training and guidance to junior legal staff and other team members on legal matters related to real estate.
• Record Keeping and Reporting:
• Maintain organized and up-to-date legal files and records.
• Prepare and present reports on legal matters and transaction status to senior management.
• Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate law, with a focus on drafting, title search, due diligence, and conveyancing.
• Experience in a managerial role preferred
