About the Business Unit:

Integrity Policy and Performance (IPP) is a business unit within the Integrity, Regulation and Legal Services group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. IPP is responsible for supporting the Attorney-General in her role as the Minister responsible for Victoria's integrity system and as First Law Officer.
About the Role:

The Senior Legal Policy Officer will primarily focus on legal profession regulation matters. They will have the opportunity to gain experience working closely with other Australian jurisdictions in the Legal Profession Uniform. Law scheme as well as developing strong stakeholder relationships with relevant key stakeholders.
Some of your duties will include:
Providing advice to the Attorney-General and departmental executives on operational issues affecting legal profession regulators, including in relation to budget, subordinate legislation and legislative reform
Managing designated projects, undertake research and develop and evaluate evidence policy proposals to improve the operation of legal profession regulation and deliver on government priorities
Developing complex briefs, Cabinet and Parliamentary documentation, policy papers, reports and Ministerial and other correspondence for the Attorney-General's portfolio.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Highly-developed knowledge and experience of leg islative and public policy processes or relevant legal practice experience
A strong ability to adopt an innovative, strategic and solutions-focused approach to problem solving
An astute ability to consistently deliver high quality written and verbal advice, effectively analysing complex issues
A seasoned ability in working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements:
A tertiary qualification in law or relevant discipline is highly desirable.
