Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join our Commercial Litigation team. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in handling complex and high-stakes litigation matters, including:
Litigation Management & Strategy: Oversee and manage end-to-end commercial litigation matters from initial instruction to resolution.
Drafting & Pleadings: Prepare a wide array of legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, and submissions.
Court Appearances & Advocacy: Represent clients in various jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court, Magistrates/District Courts, and the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT).
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
5 years PQE, ideally most of that spent in commercial litigation.
Strong experience in Building & Construction litigation (back-end, though both front and back-end experience is advantageous).
Expertise in SOPA (Security of Payments Act) is a must.
Exceptional drafting and communication skills.
Ability to engage and build strong client relationships and support the lead Partner in building the practice.
