About the Role
The Senior Lighting Technician leads the development, planning, maintenance, delivery and implementation of lighting services for exhibitions, events, multimedia production projects and programs at the Gallery.

What Technical/Soft Skills you require
Tertiary qualifications in Lighting Design, Illumination Engineering or relevant gallery/museum experience with a strong track record in a lighting design environment and working knowledge of exhibition lighting design, international museum standards and relevant codes of practice relating to the building industry.
Demonstrated ability to articulate, create and direct a high-quality lighting design approach within the gallery and the public context including the ability to combine conceptual and visual design elements to compliment the display of artwork to facilitate and improve audience experience.
Possess a drivers licence, Construction Induction Card (White Card) and Scissor Lift Licence (Yellow Card), Working at heights ticket.
Knowledge and understanding of WHS requirements when working with electrical equipment and control systems with demonstrated experience in the appropriate use of luminaires, lighting control systems and interfaces.
Ability to read and interpret CAD schematics, building plans including electrical & associated power distribution plans and documents, with ability to data manage lighting plans and schematics for information dissemination. CAD experience and drafting skills.
Adept understanding of lighting design principles for gallery and museum spaces, with valid knowledge of focusing and manipulating lighting techniques for varied objects.
An appropriate level of fitness to lift, carry and move items of a range of shapes and sizes, up to 10-15 kilograms in weight. Weights in excess of this require the ability to team lift or the ability to use lifting/moving equipment.
