Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Loan Officer to join our financial services team. Responsibilities
Manage the entire loan origination process from initial application to closing, including pre-qualification, documentation review, and final approval.
Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and evaluate borrower financials using policies, procedures, guidelines and other relevant standards.
Negotiate loan terms with members, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to secure favorable agreements while adhering to Fair Housing regulations and TILA requirements.
Utilize mortgage servicing software tools to process loans efficiently and accurately.
Perform underwriting duties by assessing risk factors, verifying income, assets, credit reports, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations.
Maintain excellent member service by guiding members through the loan process, answering inquiries promptly, and providing clear explanations of contracts and loan options. Organization and time management is imperative.
Stay updated on industry trends, including changes in credit union and financial regulations, escrow procedures, and mortgage laws to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar financial sales role within the mortgage or banking industry. Commercial and consumer lending experience a plus.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently.
Familiarity with guidelines, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), Fair Housing regulations, and mortgage servicing procedures.
Knowledge of credit analysis techniques, loan processing steps, underwriting standards, and escrow processes as well as be able to detect fraud.
Excellent member service skills with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships with members.
Ability to perform detailed financial analysis using tools like basic math calculations and credit reports to determine borrower eligibility. Pay: $56,678.08 - $82,257.48 per year
