SENIOR LOAN PROCESSOR
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Join our team as a Senior Loan Processor, where you will play a vital role in managing loan reviews, boarding, and funding processes. This position involves ensuring accuracy in loan processing, from documenting and maintaining borrower records to calculating interest and fee accruals. You will contribute to the financial health of the organization by balancing transactions and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
• Process new loans and renewals efficiently, completing data entry and preparing general ledger entries accurately. Establish customer accounts, commitment records, and ensure timely funding.
• Review legal documentation meticulously before boarding and funding loans, including production loans with interest reserves.
• Maintain accurate Guarantor records and perform necessary maintenance for loans as required.
• Balance daily financial transactions from the system, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Verify appropriate approvals are in place before processing waivers and complex transactions, maintaining a file of all approvals.
• Calculate and process accruals, fee adjustments, and any reconcilement tasks assigned to ensure financial integrity.
• Periodically review exception reports, identifying and resolving any payment processing or reconcilement issues while following established policies.
• Efficiently send outgoing wire transfers using wire/TNET software.
• Commit to established banking programs like Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and Affirmative Action for community support.
• Adhere to all Bank Operational and Credit policies, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times.
• Take on special projects as needed to support the team and bank objectives.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of loan processing experience in a financial institution.
• Basic expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (minimum of 2 years).
Additional Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of Bank personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle a significant volume of transactions.
• Familiarity with M&I Loan System and AFS is preferred.
