Senior Manager – Credit Risk
Job location – Bangalore
Essential Functions
·Management of Team and Relationships
·Sets and manages team goals, objectives and plans for resources to accomplish tasks
·Identifies and resolves complex issues through work of subordinates
·Collaborates with SMEs to interpret guidance, articulate guidance in policies or procedures, and understand how they should be applied
·Provide strategic direction to evolve and mature the GDC risk management function
·Performs supervisory role and provide oversight of staff activities
·Provide training to staff on risk management practices
·Builds healthy cross-functional relationships among various departments to achieve alignment in timelines, deliverables and anticipated results
·Ensures effective communication, follow ups, and escalations on delays / issues for various initiatives that require Business Owner response (e.g. Certifications, PBC requests, follow up requests and questions, scheduling meeting requests, and PIO/Deficiency remediation cycle)
·Acts as a liaison with both internal and external auditors
Lead or actively engage in risk assessment programs:
·Participates in the development, design and maintenance of all program components and calendars
·Executes various components of the Credit Risk and SOX program for the Credit Administration organization, such as risk assessment, scoping, planning, narrative / flow chart updates, gap assessments, controls design and implementation, process improvements, remediation efforts, and deficiency assessment
·Facilitates walkthroughs and asks the right questions to obtain a detailed understanding of a process / control and identifies relevant risks, gaps and process improvements
·Manages and review the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of data in Workiva, including narratives, flowcharts, risk control matrix + related attributes, certifications, PBCs and IPEs (information provided by entity such as spreadsheets, reports, queries).
·Assesses controls design and execution of management review controls and information provided by entities (e.g. spreadsheets reports, queries and code logic) to ensure they address all SOX requirements.
·Reviews working papers delivered by control owners to ensure all documentation is complete, relevant, appropriate and in accordance with professional standards. Identify gaps and escalate any issues. In some cases, this may require additional meetings and assistance to bring it up to standards.
·Assesses control issues and partners with business owners to help articulate the root cause, analyze the actual and potential impact, develop correction plans, and conclude on final assessment.
·Oversees action plans to ensure timely remediation of issues.
·Reviews certifications from business owners and identifies action items for downstream impact (i.e. New / Changes to process and controls, control description and attributes, IPE inventory list, and baseline reports)
·Provide comments on missing or insufficient documentation and follow up to obtain updated documentation
·Obtain responses / explanation to auditor questions (may require independent research)
·Manage quarterly reporting of risk metrics
·Contribute to any other projects or risk related activities as required.

Knowledge
·Strong technical skills in SOX, auditing, process, risk and controls
·Moderate understanding of Banking / Credit
·Broad understanding of current accounting (U.S. GAAP), auditing (GAAS) principles and internal control concepts (COSO 2013) including IIA Standards
·Understanding / exposure to CECL is a plus.
·Strong project management and organizational skills, with the capability to work on multiple projects with minimal direction in a dynamic and fluid environment with rotating priorities.
·Pro-active and strong interpersonal skills with a team-focused attitude, demonstrating the ability to collaborate and compromise while building constructive and effective relationships
·Ability to drive, influence, negotiate, and persuade peers, colleagues and managers across business and divisional lines to deliver on tasks
·Demonstrated critical thinking, linear logic, and analytical abilities, including problem solving and time management skills
Preferred Education and Experience
·Masters, MBA degree
