senior manager, academic support programs

💰 $3,200 - $5,120 (Est.) 📍 Seattle

Job Description

WHO WE ARE

Hamlin Robinson School (HRS) ignites the academic and creative potential of students with

dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Since 1983, we have been

Washington’s only non-profit school dedicated exclusively to these students’ unique academic

and social-emotional needs.

We believe every child deserves a learning environment where they feel safe, understood, and

empowered. With small class sizes (1:15 teacher-student ratio) and a structured, multisensory

approach, students gain confidence and a sense of ownership over their learning through

meaningful moments of authentic success. In traditional school settings, students with dyslexia

often internalize their challenges as a personal failure. We exist to change that.

More than just academics, HRS is often the first place where students feel truly understood and

capable. For families, seeing their child engage joyfully in learning, sometimes for the first time,

is transformational. Hamlin Robinson School values diversity and welcomes the unique

contributions of people from all backgrounds and identities. Please view our Equity Statement

and full Non-Discrimination Policy on the HRS Website.

experience, helping learners build confidence and achieve success.
• Collaborative & Mission-Aligned Community – With a shared purpose guiding the work of all

employees, we create clarity, strengthen connections, and advance collective progress.
• Commitment to Professional Growth – Ongoing development is deeply valued, supporting

skill-building, curiosity, and growth within a dynamic and supportive community.

WHO YOU ARE
• You are collaborative, resilient, flexible, diplomatic, and patient, with a strong sense of humor

• You are organized, motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• You are comfortable working with students, families, faculty, and staff and building positive

relationships across the school community.
• You maintain a positive, student-centered approach when supporting students and families

interventions directly align with designated objectives, legal accommodations, and

evidence-based practices.
• Design and oversee specialized instructional pathways (e.g., structured literacy,

multisensory math) that are evidence-based for students with language-based learning

differences.
• Maintain a rigorous data collection system to track student growth, providing the Head

of Learning Center with regular reports on program efficacy.

Personnel & Program Management
• Lead a dedicated team of specialized tutors, providing clinical observations, coaching,

and regular performance feedback.
• Design and deliver inclusive, evidence-based training for staff by developing learning

objectives, instructional materials, and engaging activities for both in-person and virtual

sessions; and facilitating group learning experiences as needed.
• At the discretion of the Head of Learning Center, take full management responsibility for

select programs (e.g., summer intensives, specific community cohorts, or academic-

based afterschool initiatives).

Operational Support
• Co-manage the logistics of the tutoring schedule, student placements, and resource

allocation to ensure a seamless experience for families.
• Serve as a bridge between the classroom and the tutoring center, ensuring teachers and

parents are aligned on a student’s "whole-child" progress.

Stakeholder & Family Relations
• Act as a primary point of contact for families navigating the complexities of specialized

tutoring and school-based support.
