The Team

The CommSec Compliance team sits within the broader Risk and Compliance second line of defence (Line 2) function within CommBank. The team provides Regulatory Compliance advisory support, driving consistent and sustainable implementation of the Compliance Management Framework (CMF) and related policies and standards across the Group, and ultimately ensures compliance with regulatory, conduct and licensing obligations.

CommSec Compliance is an established, Line 2 Regulatory Compliance team, dedicated to the provision of proactive, solution-based advice and support across all of CommSec.

This particular role supports the Digital & Customer Experience Chapter Area, who comprise of UX Designers, UI Designers, Digital Product Managers and Customer Strategy experts. The team is responsible for evolving the digital experiences across web and app at CommSec.

What a day in your role will look like?

Reporting to the Executive Manager - Compliance, you will provide dedicated 2nd Line Regulatory Compliance support as a senior member of the team.

Key responsibilities include:
Dedicated compliance advisor supporting the Digital and Customer Crew (and other teams where needed);
Partnering with the business to meet and adhere to regulatory obligations, licensing requirements, group compliance policies and customer/community expectations;
Advising and supporting Line 1 Risk teams and Product Managers to identify and comply with regulatory obligations (excluding Financial Crime related obligations) relevant to Digital;
Providing solution-based regulatory and policy advice, independent review, challenge, direction and training;
Reviewing and managing compliance issues and incidents, including but not limited to, adequacy of root cause analysis, data quality and proposed remediation, rectification and prevention plans;
Conducting Compliance Impact Assessments, including breach reporting obligations;
Providing insights and proactive advice on new and existing regulatory obligations applicable to business processes and initiatives, including consultation on and implementation of regulatory change.
Managing engagement with Regulators (ASIC, APRA, BCCC) in relation to relevant Digital related matters.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Lead as an owner, applying pragmatism, with strong experience in the financial services and/or technology industry
Artificial intelligence, data analytics and automation capabilities
Line 2 Regulatory Compliance and/or Operational Risk experience
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication an ability to communicate effectively and interact/advise in verbal/written communications at all stakeholder levels
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet challenging deadlines with autonomy
Sound reasoning, analytical and decision-making skills with solid business acumen.
