Job Description
• Minimum of 12+ years of Indian Direct Tax experience with public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry, preferably a multinational corporation.
• Experience in Direct Tax planning/ structuring projects, including projects involving treaty positions
• Experience in working with Senior Counsels on seeking Direct Tax opinions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and working seamlessly with multiple stakeholders

The Senior Direct Tax Manager will oversee the Direct Tax planning areas for India and work closely with internal stakeholders including direct tax compliance, accounting, Indirect tax teams, controversy and business teams, to support Amazon's India business including new launches.
Key job responsibilities
• Reviewing business launches and programs from Direct Tax, partnering with various teams and functioning as an in-house Direct Tax advisor
• Researching on nuanced Direct Tax positions and working closely with tax authorities and external advisers, where needed
• Ideating and evaluating Direct Tax planning opportunities across business and treasury functions
• Drafting Direct Tax Requirement Documents for new business launches and operating guidance for business teams
• Identifying changes in Direct Tax laws and evaluating and communicating impact of the same to various stakeholders
• Working closely with the US tax partner teams to help them identify US tax impacts on account of any Indian law changes or transactions or tax positions
• Demonstrates the ability to manage others and influence without authority in a matrixed environment.
• Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to deliver in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment
• Able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management
