The Senior Manager - Forensics and Investigations Practice must have experience in the following focus areas: National Security, Cyber Security and Forensic Accounting
The ideal candidate will also have experience in forensic accounting and will play a critical role in supporting complex financial investigations
Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preference in business, IT, cybersecurity, or a related field of study
Advanced degree
History of building consulting firms and/or practice lines in governance, risk, and compliance
Prior experience working as a governance, regulatory, or compliance professional and/or national security professional in a company, professional services firm, or U.S. Government
Demonstrated expertise in governance, risk, and compliance
Must be able to independently produce complete, professional, and polished work products
Ability to utilize technology, including computers and telecommunication devices
Ability to read and interpret written documents, computer screens and other visual displays accurately
Ability to work long days and/or firm holidays as required
Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office at minimum 3 days per week

Pay Ranges: This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position
Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience
Pittsburgh / Miami / Texas: $152,000 - $250,000
Chicago / Philadelphia: $164,000 – $250,000
Washington D.C. / Princeton NJ: $175,000 – $250,000

Responsibilities
This position will focus specifically on foreign investment and national security regulations such as the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), as well as meeting broader cybersecurity and defense security standards
The candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive cyber security assessments and providing expert advisory services to our clients
This role requires a deep understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management strategies
This position involves analyzing financial data, identifying irregularities, and providing insights to support legal proceedings and business decisions
Catalyzing the growth of the National Security Advisory Practice in both U.S. and non-U.S. markets
Develops and maintains relationships with senior level executives and / or board members, including leading the development of marketing and business development efforts
Maintaining industry-recognized subject matter expertise in the national security, foreign investment, and international trade
Develops a comprehensive suite of service offerings within the National Security Advisory Practice
Operationalizes and standardizes service offerings from risk assessments to audits and monitorship engagements
Independently interfacing with clients to deliver high-quality work product related to compliance and security programs, including risk assessments, security policies, independent audits / monitorships, as well as advisory reports
Leading and collaborating with internal teams to perform assessments of compliance with regulatory regimes (e.g., CFIUS)
Builds and manages a team that advises clients in the domains of national security, foreign investment, international trade and other related practice areas
Collaborates across the Gravity Stack service platforms to offer a complement of solutions that address client needs, including cybersecurity, forensics, e-discovery, technology integration, and business strategy, including collaborating across pre-existing legal and corporate relationships
Conduct thorough cyber security assessments, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits
Identify and evaluate security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats to client systems and networks
Develop detailed assessment reports outlining findings, risks, and recommended remediation actions
Ensure client compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001)
Perform risk assessments and help clients prioritize and mitigate identified risks
Develop and maintain risk management documentation and policies
Provide expert advice and guidance on cyber security best practices, policies, and procedures
Assist clients in developing and implementing robust security strategies and frameworks
Collaborate with clients to design and enhance their security architecture and controls
Conduct thorough forensic accounting investigations to identify and quantify financial discrepancies, fraud, and other irregularities
Analyze complex financial data and transactions to trace funds, identify patterns, and uncover hidden assets
Prepare detailed investigation reports and findings for internal use and external stakeholders, including legal counsel and law enforcement agencies
Manages client's expectations to deliver on-time and on-budget solutions
Responds rapidly to client needs and questions with thoughtful and pragmatic solutions
