About the Opportunity

Gallagher Bassett is Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary third-party claims administrator, managing claims for insurers, brokers, government bodies, and self-insured organisations. We are committed to delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions to our clients, ensuring their people and businesses are protected.

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager – Government Partnerships to join our Victorian Workers’ Compensation team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate Gallagher Bassett’s government client portfolios in Victoria.

The newly created position of Senior Manager – Government Partnerships provides senior operational leadership and strategic coordination for Gallagher Bassett’s government clients in Victoria.

This position ensures government clients receive clear, consistent, and senior-level operational oversight. It brings together performance management, claims delivery, stakeholder relationships, and governance under a single accountability point, strengthening GB’s capability to manage public sector portfolios.

How you'll make an impact

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for:

Operational Performance Management
Overseeing the operational performance of a Government portfolio, ensuring consistent delivery and outcomes.
Monitoring performance outcomes, identifying key drivers, and collaborating with operational leaders to address issues proactively.

Operational Coordination Across Government Portfolios
Working directly with operational teams to understand day-to-day pressures and emerging themes, removing friction and maintaining alignment across workflows.
Maintaining visibility across other government employers to support smoother coordination and shared uplift.

Performance Insights & Reporting
Providing clear, grounded performance insights to help GB and government partners understand operational trends and areas requiring attention.
Preparing concise reporting that distils complexity into actionable insights.

Governance & Issue Management
Leading structured governance for key partnerships and support similar disciplines across other government clients.

Client Relationship & Service Delivery
Acting as a senior relationship manager for key government clients, ensuring the relationship is supported, responsive, and well-managed.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Uplift
Identifying patterns and opportunities to improve how government portfolios are handled, embedding sustainable changes that strengthen consistency and quality.

About you

We’re looking for an engaging leader who also has:

Experience in leading workers’ compensation teams or operations
Demonstrated ability to analyse operational data and generate clear insights.
Experience working with government and/or emergency services clients.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues for senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead through influence and coordinate across multiple teams.
Deep knowledge of psychological injuries, RTW best practice, and provider governance.
