In this role you will:
Implement the investment risk framework consistent with SPS220, SPS530, SPS 530, CPS 230, CPS226 and RG251 and associated investment risk management standards (internationally).
Facilitate investment risk management practices to meet regulatory and other stakeholder requirements.
Provide advice, oversight and review of compliance risks, including provision of ongoing advice to the Rest Investment Team, including the development of policies and procedures;
Monitor pre and post-trade transactions, ensuring compliance with investment limits for holdings and transactions, including reporting breaches and collaborating with the Operational Risk team for resolution.
Oversight of mandate compliance activities including pre and post trade compliance with investment management agreements for internal and external managers.
Monitor compliance with investment guidelines and risk limits for internal and external mandates, and Whole of Fund aggregated portfolios.
Compliance with OTC derivatives reporting requirements including oversight of the daily OTC trade reporting to ASIC including reconciliations of trade terms and valuations.
Maintain collaborative working relationships with various stakeholders (Rest investment and investment operations teams, external investment managers and the fund custodian).
Drive enhancements to analytics, data integrity, models and reporting.
Ensure model risk management is appropriately implemented
Qualifications
Significant demonstrable experience in investment risk and compliance in investment management or superannuation
Proven expertise in regulatory obligations including SPS 530, CPS 230, CPS226 and RG251
Demonstrated ‘commercial’ approach to investment risk and compliance, including demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior decision makers and portfolio managers
A proven ability to provide expert risk and compliance advice, while being able to manage multiple and complex stakeholders
A thorough understanding of order management and investment compliance systems
Relevant experience in derivatives across all asset classes including foreign currency, equities and fixed income
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise competing deadlines
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a high-performing team
Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with sound oral and written communications skills
