Senior Manager, Legal and Compliance
Description:

Qualys is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance to join the legal team in Pune, India. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Legal, the Senior Manager, Legal & Compliance will have a wide scope of responsibilities related to technology transactions, compliance, process management, and other efficiency improvements. This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a small legal department of a fast-growing publicly held company. This is a role based in Pune, India.
Responsibilities:
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of agreements that comply with company policies and risk tolerance
• Advise and counsel the business teams on the various legal and compliance issues and risks, business strategies, approval processes, intellectual property and other issues related to the company’s operations and offerings in EMEA, APAC, and ANZ
• Provide legal support and guidance for internal functions, including human resources, marketing, sales, operations, product, security and finance
• Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, internal review processes, and other related policies• Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, internal review processes, and other related policies
• Train employees on legal issues and company policies
• Handle special projects as requested
• Provide legal guidance on various privacy regulations including the collection, use, and sharing of personal data in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements
• Develop policies and processes
• Support corporate development and conduct due diligence for M&A activity
• Manage and advise business on all data privacy/security issues globally
Requirements:
• Education: LLB from a reputed law school.
• Additional certifications in corporate or technology law are a plus.
• 8-12+ years of experience in legal advisory, with significant exposure to corporate, and commercial law.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with partnership mindset, business judgment and strategic thinking
• Experience with procurement as well as advising and structuring complex commercial and other legal issues and arrangements.
• Ability to develop and document contracts management processes consistent with corporate policies and procedures.
• Experience in security or other high technology companies, preference given to prior experience drafting or working on SaaS agreements.
• Experience working with global customers and transactions.
• Strong business judgment, capable of understanding complex topics and finding streamlined solutions to legal and business problems.
• Self-starter with excellent follow-through and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Accountable, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently and apply good business and legal judgment in assessing compliance issues.
• Aptitude for supporting strong working cross-functional relationships.
