Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to provide engineering leadership and design direction for our global network. This management role involves leading the Copeland Network Services engineering architecture design and development initiatives for all enterprise network technologies. You will serve as the senior technical expert in IT networking, mentoring Network Services resources on best practices for data communication infrastructure. Your expertise will be essential in transforming and modernizing the Copeland Data Infrastructure. You will have extensive knowledge across IT Networking, including Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Wireless, and security services, and provide Level IV operational support for our IT Enterprise, guiding the resolution of complex issues related to the Data Infrastructure.
As the Senior Manager, Network Services, your responsibilities will include:
• Developing a strategic transformation roadmap to modernize the Copeland network enterprise.
• Delivering industry-leading solutions to enhance company productivity and efficiency, grounded in extensive experience in manufacturing and distribution environments.
• Managing multiple engineering teams that support Network Service line functions.
• Planning, designing, and implementing network infrastructure technologies, including LAN, SD-WAN, Firewalls, and wireless systems.
• Providing Level IV technical support and leadership to infrastructure operations.
• Researching and evaluating new network and communication technologies.
• Offering thought leadership and technical guidance as a subject matter expert for Enterprise IT leadership.
• Consulting with business units to provide technical solutions that meet their requirements.
• Collaborating with Security and Cloud Infrastructure groups as a subject matter expert for Enterprise IT Communications.
• Working with industry vendors to identify and incorporate new technologies while exploring cost savings opportunities.
• Presenting technical overviews and project status updates to leadership, potentially including C-level stakeholders.
Required education, experience, and skills:
• Current Cisco CCIE certification or Emeritus status within the last 3 years.
• Equivalent industry or military experience in an IT Network Military Occupational Specialty is acceptable.
• A minimum of 15 years in a Lead Engineering/Architect role, focusing on the transformation and modernization of large global networks.
• At least 10 years of recent experience in design, implementation, and operation of WAN/LAN and Wireless networks using Cisco and other top-tier products.
• A solid understanding of security solutions specific to Cisco, Palo Alto, and zScaler products.
• Advanced experience in network operations and IT Service Management (ITSM).
• In-depth knowledge of VLANs, spanning tree, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and other routing protocols.
• Proficient in SD-WAN technologies, with recent experience designing and deploying an SD-WAN infrastructure organically.
• Advanced skills in RF and Wi-Fi services design and implementation.
• Ten years of experience assessing new and emerging technologies.
• Experience in evaluating new hardware, firmware, and software.
• Ability to develop training materials and identify training needs.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience in performance evaluation and network optimization.
• Excellent presentation skills, especially when communicating with C-level leadership.
• A capacity for effective communication and teamwork.
• Proficiency in English (verbal, reading, writing).
• Global operational experience is essential.
• Advanced knowledge of Cloud networking design.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and Cloud networking.
• Familiarity with enterprise environments and strict change control procedures.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
Preferred education, experience, and skills:
• A master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technology/engineering field.
Remote Work Arrangement:
This position is fully remote, but you may be required to travel to a Copeland site to collaborate with your team or customers as necessary. In accordance with Colorado EPEWA, the base salary range for this role is $170,000-$250,000 annually, based on skills, capabilities, and experience.
