Mo te tūranga | About the Role

This role is all about maintaining effective controls, reporting on risks, and resolving potential issues before they become major problems. You'll be working closely with stakeholders across the business to make sure we're always on top of our risk management game. Your work will make a real difference for ASB and our customers in Aotearoa, helping us to maintain trust and transparency in everything we do.

You'll be responsible for providing timely and insightful reporting to senior stakeholders, as well as identifying and mitigating operational, regulatory, and delivery risks. If you're someone who is passionate about risk management and compliance, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for communicating complex ideas in a simple way, this could be the perfect role for you.

As a seasoned risk and compliance professional, here's what you bring to the team:

Risk management expertise - you've got an in-depth understanding of risk management frameworks and know how to apply them in a financial services environment

Excellent communication skills - you can explain complex technical information to non-subject matter experts in a clear and concise way

Stakeholder management - you've got excellent interpersonal skills and can build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business

Proactive approach - you're outcomes-focused and driven towards timely resolution and risk buy down

Compliance knowledge - you've got experience applying risk, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in a financial services organisation

Influencing skills - you can advise and guide teams to implement effective risk mitigations and controls

Experience in a financial services environment - you've got a solid understanding of the industry and its unique challenges
