This position may be a hybrid or fully remote position, as decided by your manager. If designated as hybrid, you’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office location, so you should live within commuting distance. If designated as remote, you’ll be working remotely from your home and may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings. The Customer Engagement Data team within the larger Customer and Site organization is a growing platform team dedicated to the data used in our campaign and messaging platforms. This data must be timely, accurate, and as up-to-date as possible, as it drives real-time messaging and notifications, along with outbound communications (email and SMS, etc) to our customers. This includes messaging and notifications that enhance the customer experience, drive engagement, and support business objectives. This position will have complete ownership of our Customer Engagement Platform Data Pipeline and integration with both internal and external systems.
Our data platform has to have top-notch observability, with end-to-end system monitoring, platform availability, and reporting across the entire pipeline (for example, visibility of data feeds to and from sources and data source-specific SLAs).

What you'll get to do…
• As an Engineering Manager focused on Marketing and Customer Engagement at GoDaddy, you will have the opportunity to lead a successful team in shaping the technical vision and strategy for a platform that is a keystone to our customer experience and marketing business objectives. Everything we do starts with data.
• Ensure our team continues with a “Shift Left” focus on security. This includes the design and development of systems that can contain sensitive customer information.
• Build a true omni-channel delivery platform that supports multiple channels including transactional emails, SMS, WhatsApp, outbound phone campaigns, and more.
• You will partner closely with product management and other teams to define and implement the technical roadmap, setting clear project milestones that align with business objectives.
Your experience should include…
• 10+ years proven experience in engineering, with 5+ years in a managerial role.
• The manager position requires a minimum three-hour overlap with team members in the US-Pacific time zone.
• AWS and data platform engineering, having a passion for data quality and platform reliability is a must!
• Demonstrated success in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams, especially across multiple regions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for technology and innovation.
• Designing and delivering scalable, production-quality software solutions.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS is a plus) and container orchestration technologies.
