Job Overview
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on technologically advanced vessels equipped with cutting-edge machinery. You will be responsible for performing engine room watch-keeping duties, executing routine work routines, and maintaining generator engines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Watch-keeping & Routine Work: Perform engine room watch-keeping duties when required and execute work routines in your area of responsibility as directed by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer.
• Generator Maintenance: Maintain generator engines and fuel injection equipment as required by the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and as directed by the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer.
• Performance & Reporting: Ensure generator engines are well-maintained for optimum performance and fuel consumption. Report any breakdown, failure, or deviation immediately to the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer.
• Spare Parts Management: Regularly check the stock of generator and fuel injector spare parts to ensure minimum requirements are always met.
• Housekeeping: Maintain order and cleanliness in the generator engine room(s) and other designated work areas.
• Maintenance Activities: Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance activities as directed by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Experience: At least 6 months seatime experience in rank on vessels equipped with an Unattended Machinery Space (UMS) system and a minimum of 20,000 BHP engine size.
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of marine engine operations and maintenance.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and report technical issues effectively.
• Safety Mindset: A strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.
• Team Player: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse maritime crew.
