Roles & Responsibilities:
Ø Development of Design Concepts for Automation, Special-purpose machine design and other design projects as an independent contributor
Ø Execute mechanical design engineering projects & provide technical solutions to Customers
Ø Create manufacturing drawings based on Customer requested Standards, GD&T, BOM & Documentation release
Ø Prepare design calculations to support design (selection of cylinders, mounting bolts, gears and mechanisms)
Ø Help in preparation of Scope understanding document, Project Requirements Document and estimation for proposals
Ø On a need basis supplier Interaction & Coordination for development are required
Ø Supporting manufacturing teams based on project requirements from a design perspective
Ø Resolution of Design Issues raised during Manufacturing through Problem Solving Techniques
Ø Execution & Implementation of Cost Reduction Ideas (Value Analysis & Value Engineering - VAVE)
Ø Adherence to the quality and project timelines in projects
Ø Present design concepts with the internal technical team for reviews as well as customer reviews.
Ø Be a team player and create all design deliverables and complete self-quality checks before delivering them to the project leader / Customer
Ø Work on requested research topics and prepare a consolidated presentation
Ø Work with cross-functional teams such as Analysis, Electrical and Embedded Software and manufacturing
Ø Provide project progress reports and weekly timesheets.
Key skills/experience:
Ø Should have 5-8 years of Specific experience in mechanical design (Special purpose machine design, automating manual processes, jigs and fixtures design, Doors & Windows design)
Ø Should be able to come up with a concept design by referring to project scope documents and when someone internally explains verbally or Customer explains their requirement
Ø Working experience in 3D CAD packages
Ø Preparing presentations where concepts are easily understandable for internal / Customer design reviews
Ø Should have thorough knowledge of grouping of parts in sub-assemblies when creating assemblies
Ø Should have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes
Ø Should have a good understanding of the materials
Ø Working knowledge with international Customers is an added advantage
Professional Attributes:
Ø Candidate should be a self-driven and quick learner.
Ø Excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments
Ø Should be a team player.
Educational Qualification:
BE / B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering
