Your department:
Development Center Equipment India (formerly Research & Development India) is an extended arm of DCE Netherlands and plays a key role in the continuous investment in developing new products and leverage technologies to strengthen our position and differentiate our products in material handling automation solutions market.

Your Role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the production of mechanical systems and components. This role involves applying advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring that designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing, to bring innovative products to life.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10-12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Experience in product design, development, and manufacturing processes required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools and thermal, fluid, or structural simulations is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Development: Contribute, lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and assemblies. Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA) to create detailed drawings, models, and simulations. Conduct stress analysis and thermal simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Product development and maintain:
Manage multiple products develop and maintain duties ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of mechanical components with electrical, software, and other systems. Prepare and present project progress reports to stakeholders.
• Prototyping & Testing:
Direct the prototyping and testing phases of product development, identifying design flaws or areas for improvement. Analyze test results and make recommendations for design modifications. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to refine designs for ease of production.
• Innovation & Optimization:
Continuously seek opportunities for innovation, and sustainable design optimization. Propose new mechanical design technologies, materials, and methods to improve product performance, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
• Mentorship & Collaboration:
Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and competence development opportunities. Foster collaboration across departments to resolve design or product issues and ensure smooth product deployment.
• Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry/company standards, codes, and regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for all designs, testing procedures, and changes in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the company’s continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements, promoting best practices, and participating in root cause analysis of design issues or failures.
