Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Merchandiser to join our team at a prestigious high fashion apparel export manufacturing house. As a Senior Merchandiser, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire merchandising process, from concept development to final production. Your exceptional fashion sense, keen market insight, and strong organizational skills will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of our high-quality fashion products.
Responsibilities:
1. Product Development: Collaborate with design and production teams to translate design concepts into viable fashion products. Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, consumer demands, and competitive offerings. Provide valuable input in the development of new designs, materials, and production techniques.
2. Order Management: Manage the entire order process, from receiving customer inquiries to shipment. Prepare and review purchase orders, sales contracts, and other documentation. Monitor production timelines, track progress, and address any delays or issues proactively to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
3. Quality Control: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures at every stage of production. Conduct regular inspections of samples, raw materials, and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications, standards, and brand requirements. Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
4. Cost Management: Monitor and manage product costs, ensuring profitability while maintaining the desired level of quality. Analyze and negotiate prices with suppliers, optimize material utilization, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on product integrity.
5. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of merchandisers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a customer-centric mindset.
6. Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, including designers, production managers, and sales teams, to ensure alignment and timely execution of merchandising strategies. Liaise with clients and overseas buyers, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and managing expectations throughout the order process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Design, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising within the high fashion apparel industry, preferably with export manufacturing exposure.
- Strong knowledge of fashion trends, textiles, and garment construction techniques.
- Proven experience in product development, sourcing, and supplier management.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong business relationships.
- Solid understanding of quality control processes and ability to ensure adherence to high standards.
