We're thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Android Developer in our Mobile team. You'll enjoy working within a close knit, mostly remote team, dedicated to improving the experience of Sharesies’ mobile app users - we’re very proud of our 4.8 star Play Store rating and that we consistently feature in the top 10 Finance apps in NZ! The majority of development teams across Sharesies are full stack (Python/Typescript), so our goal within the Mobile team is to really intentionally focus our native development in the areas where it can have the most impact.
This position is one of two Android developers on the team (and is a fixed term contract for 12 months to cover a parental leave). The Sharesies Android App is built using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for native UI, and utilising WebViews to ensure feature parity with the web application. If you’ve got full stack skills we will put those to use as well, building out better APIs to support the Mobile App and improve performance overall.

is a capable mobile developer with experience in Android (Kotlin)
has some full stack experience or a good understanding of APIs and API design, and would be keen to support work that will enable our teams to deliver quality software efficiently
has good communication and people skills, including code review
is adaptable to change, and is motivated by our vision and purpose
